Bitter for Sweet

It’s very heartbreaking for me what I see going on in our country. Everywhere I turn there’s nothing but chaos, lawlessness, filthiness, violence and darkness being pushed on those who choose to follow Christ Jesus. Even churches are turning from biblical doctrine and are embracing worldly ideologies, which, scripture tells us are merely doctrines of demons. All these things remind me of the scripture which reads;

Isn’t this exactly what we’re seeing take place today? As a Christian I have to follow what the Lord Jesus and His Apostles taught. Not to take on the ways of this world, the lust, the desires, pleasures or the hate which this world has. It also means I’m not called to buy guns for self defensive, to march in protest, to riot, to break into homes and businesses, instead, to keep my eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him. The scripture reads;

For Christians who are following the ways of this world instead of Jesus Christ, REPENT while you still have an opportunity, because none of us know when He’s returning.

When Mercy Ends

Don’t Dim the Light

As I continue my journey through the scriptures, I find it extremely interesting how everything Jesus taught, during His ministry on earth, man embraces the exact opposite. Because when Jesus began His teachings, He taught the Good News, or Good Message, of the Kingdom of God. That is, we are to repent of our sins, accept Jesus as the Son of God, the Messiah, turn away from all sin and live a life pleasing to God.

But in today’s culture, lawlessness is rampant, murder is through the roof, theft is becoming legal, drug use is at an all time high, same sex marriage is legalized, transgender ideology is ruling the nation, abortion is being contested up to the time of birth, legal entry is not required, children are being exploited and sold, euthanization is accepted in Oregon, Hawaii, Washington, Maine, Colorado, New Jersey, Washington DC, California, Vermont and will probably spread into more US states.

Does this sound like a nation following God, following the Good Message which Jesus taught?

And remember what the Apostle Paul told us, how man would be in the last days, it was part of his teachings to the Churches. While Christians have heard this scripture many, many times when you meditate and reflect on it and compare it to what we see in the world today, there’s no doubt, time is drawing near. The scripture I’m referring to reads;

If you take this scripture and apply it starting at the very top of our leadership to the very least of mankind, it paints a very dark picture.

But, Jesus instructed us to let our light shine and to not hide it. Which means, as a believer I must stand on God’s TRUTH. His truth is simple, to repent, turn from your old ways, believe in the only begotten Son, Christ Jesus and follow Him.

What Did Jesus Say?

My journey through the scriptures led me to a place which has me questioning a remark Christ made during His sermon on the mount. During His teaching, He says;

What did Jesus mean by this? To me the clue lies in His statement, which is, “he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.” And look what else he says, “depart from Me you workers of lawlessness.”

What is God’s will and why does Jesus call them workers of lawlessness?

Lawlessness is going against God’s Law, which means, those who don’t keep His commandments along with His ordinances and statues are considered lawbreakers. So what exactly does this mean? To answer this I revisited the scriptures found in Ezekiel which states;

From this scripture alone, we can see, God is VERY serious about walking in His Statues and His Judgments. He wants us to follow His commands and do what is right. In fact, He tells us that His Spirit will cause us to walk in His Laws and we will keep His Judgments and we will do them.

Which means, once we repent of our sins, and believe in Jesus as the Son of God, as the Christ, who came to set us free by becoming the sacrifice and paying the penalty of death, we’re given a new heart and a new Spirit, the Spirit of God. But something else I found during my study, the scriptures read;

You see, the Apostles never taught that the commandments weren’t to be followed, it was quite the opposite. What they taught was that our FAITH and belief in Christ Jesus, Yeshua, as the Son of God would give us a new heart and a new Spirit so we could keep God’s law. To illustrate this point, look at the very words of one of the three angels written in the Book of Revelation, which reads;

Notice what one of the three Angels said, those who KEEP God’s commandments AND the FAITH of Jesus. Meaning, this isn’t optional, it’s non-negotiable! But to illustrate this even further, let’s examine the very words of Jesus which He provided at the end of Revelation, which reads;

So ask yourself, am I being guided by the Holy Spirit to follow God’s commands, OR, am I following a false doctrine which is twisted by man and emphasizes a belief that the Law was nailed to the cross? Because, Jesus states himself, nothing will pass from the Law until heaven and earth pass away.

Please understand, I’m NOT suggesting we follow the Law as the Jewish people did, no, what I’m trying to say is, it’s OUR FAITH in CHRIST which makes us SPIRTIUALLY keep GOD’s LAW.

But the BELIEF that the LAW was nailed to the cross is NOT biblical, per Jesus. And that’s my whole point.

Scariest Scripture in the Bible

There are many scriptures in the Bible which are very enduring to me, but as I continue my journey through the scriptures I have also found those that are very frightening to me. There’s only a couple which truly scare me, but, the one I want to share with you today is the one which says;

Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; LEAVE ME YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS. Matthew 7:21-23

See what I mean? Scary right?

So I thought about this and started wondering, if those who cast out demons, performed miracles and prophesied in His name was told them to leave by Jesus, I needed to understand why. Because I know Jesus is loving, compassionate, merciful and forgiving, but, I also know He is righteous.

But it’s 2 areas within these scripture Jesus tells us the reason “why” He’s pushing them away when He says, “YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.”

What is lawlessness?

Jesus was very precise when He made this statement, because, if you look at the definition of lawlessness it means, a state of disorder due to a disregard of the law. And notice what else Jesus said, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

What is the will of His Father?

From the very beginning after God created Adam we were to be obedient to God. But instead of being obedient, mankind is in constant rebellion. And that’s exactly what lawlessness is, rebelling against God and practicing wrongdoing. Another scripture which is very telling is when Jesus quoted the words of the Prophet Isaiah, which were;

This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, “Hear and understand! It is not what enters the mouth that defiles the person, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles the person.” Matthew 15:8,9

So God told the prophet Isaiah, these people worshipped Him in vain because of their hearts. You see, since their hearts weren’t right with God they could never truly worship or honor Him. Now if their hearts were right with God they would have taught the commandments of God, instead of the commandments of men. And Jesus backs this up and explains it when He says;

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and those things defile the person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, acts of adultery, other sexual immoral acts, thefts, false testimonies and slanderous statements. These are the things that defile the person; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the person. Matthew 7:18-20

Just because a person goes to church doesn’t make them righteous because the statics prove that OVER half the men who go to church are into pornography. But it’s not just pornography, it’s all wrongdoing.

Why do I believe this is happening?

Because mankind has lost their LOVE for God and have NO FEAR of Him. And since they have NO FEAR of God they teach false doctrines and twisted scriptures instead of teaching God’s will. Because Jesus said when asked;

Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And He said to him, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:36-40

Because if you think about it, if one truly loves God and his neighbor the way this scripture directs us to, there would be is NO ROOM for LAWLESSNESS….

It’s time to repent of lawlessness and get back to LOVING GOD!

A House Built On Sand

Everyday I watch this country fall deeper and deeper into descent as lawlessness reigns all the way from the White House to the petty criminal on the street. It’s astounding! And unfortunately, this lawlessness has entered the Churches and have utterly rendered the members incompetent and unprepared. Many of the solid, bible believing Churches are unable to handle the issues within their own communities let along society as a whole. These Churches find themselves at a crossroads stuck somewhere in the middle while facing an enormous decision, to move forward and proclaim the Good News, or, to conform to the ways of the world.

But why is this happening?

Well, it reminds me of the teaching Jesus told during His Sermon on the Mount, which goes like this;

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and it’s collapse was great. Matthew 7:24-27

You see, if a house(Church) builds their foundation on the rock(Jesus), they can weather the storm because Jesus is when them to see them through. But one who builds his house(Church) on the foundation of sand follows the doctrines of man, traditions of man and the ways of this world. That house will collapse!

So as I watch these Churches embrace these controversial issues involving wokeism, transgender ideology, climate control and same sex marriages it becomes apparent, they chose to follow the ways of this world. In other words…

THEY BUILT THEIR HOUSE ON THE SAND!
