A Need for Repentance

I was listening to a sermon by John MacArthur who is the pastor at Grace Community Church this evening and He quoted a scripture which caught my attention. For me this scripture is a direct reflection of what we see happening in our world today. This scripture reads;

What is righteousness?

Simply, it means to do what is morally right by the One, GOD, who gave us His divine law. He’s the same One who created the Heaven’s and the Earth and sent His Only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to teach us the right way to live.

What does this mean?

Basically it means, if the United States does not reverse it’s path from these world ideologies, if they don’t humble themselves and repent of their sins, America will cease to exist. People please wake up and repent of your sins before it’s too late. These world ideologies goes against everything Jesus taught and God Almighty will judge those who deny the Lord Jesus Christ.

While all sin goes against God it means we as Christians are NOT called to judge, condemn are ridicule non-believers. But we’re called to stand in God’s TRUTH and speak it in a gentle, loving manner regardless of who it offends. One of the scriptures which comes to mind reads;

Today, many claim the title of Christian but fail to live up to God’s TRUTH. Being a Christian myself I know I must be willing to evaluate my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as all Christians should be willing to do the same. Ask yourself, Where do I stand in my walk with Christ? Am I walking in the footsteps of Jesus? Do I have the mind of Christ? Am I following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ? Or, am I walking worldly trying to fulfill every lust, desire and passion?

Remember, God knows the heart and there is nothing hidden that will not be exposed!

Who Will You Choose?

For those of us who live in the United States we’ve never really experienced Christian persecution as a result of our Faith. Television, radio, and social media platforms are targeting those who believe in Jesus Christ and the message of Truth which He taught. But many Christians are failing to recognize the direction we’re headed and the decision each will have to make. While many Christians are more concerned with worldly issues instead of eternity, the scriptures teach us differently;

But laws are being enacted which could make speaking God’s TRUTH a hate crime. And if you look at the chaos and lawlessness taking place within America today you know the world is about to change. For those who earnestly seek to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and worship God, there’s no doubt, we will be hated.

But as a Christian, I’m not called to judge non-believers or even other Christians, but, I am called to speak God’s Truth in a loving manner to all people. And the Truth is;

But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! But without repentance and deep sorrow over our sins toward God, it’s all in vain.

We must sincerely feel convicted over everything we’ve done which goes against God. All the lies, stealing, sexual immorality, filthy language, putting others before Him and living worldly. Once we confess all our sins to God we must believe in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Who left His heavenly home and took on flesh. He was born of a virgin, preached the Good News of the Kingdom, and was sacrificed on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day and appeared to His Apostles and over 500 brothers at once. Then, we must be baptized to receive the Holy Spirit.

This is the only way!

The Lost Sheep

One of my favorite parables in the Bible is, The Parable of the Lost Sheep. I say one of my favorites because I like all of them. But this one really speaks to the heart of who Jesus is. This parable is found in the Book of Matthew and Luke. In Matthew it speaks to how the Son of Man came to save those who are lost. But in this instance I’ll use the Luke version.

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the 99 in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 just persons who need no repentance.

Isn’t this amazing!

Because this is exactly what the Lord Christ Jesus does for each of His lost Sheep. Those who were given to Him by His Father, if they stray or get lost, when they repent, He finds them.

None of us are perfect and many of us have strayed. But the Lord Christ Jesus will find you if you repent of your sins. Don’t hold on to them overburdening yourself with guilt or shame. Instead, humble yourself before God and speak to Him from your heart. Don’t be afraid to tell Him everything you’ve done, because, He already knows. But he’s waiting on you to take that step.

We’re each going to go before the Great White Throne so don’t let these worldly sins get the best of you. And if there’s a specific sin you can’t seem to shake, ask God to deliver you from it.

Repent now, because tomorrow is never promised.

Glory to God…

America Needs to Repent

America is seeing an increase in crime, violence, lawlessness and soon we’ll be facing over population, new pandemics and shortages. And within our country societies are being forced into a new culture, one which is intolerant of those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ, but, is open to every sin which goes against God’s Word.

From my Journey through the Scriptures, I realized many of the biblical stories found in the Old Testament spoke of some of these same things. You see, when a nation, country or king went against God by failing to give Him the glory and repent of their deeds, God would render punishment often through invasions, famines and disease. Whether what’s occurring today is punishment from God, or something else entirely different, it doesn’t change the fact that America needs to REPENT. Repent from;

  • False idols & failing to put God first
  • Sexual immorality
  • Lying
  • Stealing
  • Murders, Assaults, and Rape
  • Abortion
  • Transgender Movement
  • Marriage between Same Sex
  • False Prophets with their False Teachings
  • Ungodly Leaders

Please understand, I’m merely pointing out the TRUTH of God’s Word. I’m not judging anyone cause I’ve had my own past sins, issues, and deeds to repent of. But when you look at people today many really don’t want to hear they’re sinners, just like I didn’t. They don’t want to hear God gives them a death sentence for their sins, just like He did me. Are how people believe they’re mostly good, just as I believed I was.

But we have HOPE!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

The Word existed from the beginning, left his home in heaven and took on flesh by being born of a virgin. He dwelt among men as Jesus, the Christ (or Yeshua the Messiah in Hebrew), preached a message of Repentance and the need to live righteously. But He died on the cross for the penalty of our sins, bore our sins in His body and became the sacrificial lamb. He was buried in a tomb, rose on the third day, seen by His Apostles, along with many of His disciples then returned back to Heaven.

Whoever believes in the Son and confesses with their mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Knowing Jesus is my Lord, also means He is before anyone and anything in my life. It also means as a believer if I’m caught between following Christ or following man, I must speak God’s TRUTH, STAND FIRM in it and choose the Lord Jesus Christ.

Knowing we have this hope, let’s continue to encourage one another, build each other up so when trials come we can stand firm in our FAITH.

Flee

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man
does is outside the body, but he who commits
sexual immorality sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 6:18

There’s no doubt we’re living in a perverse generation according to what the Bible tells me. Because when I read and study the Scriptures, it becomes clear our society is completely breaking down. Man has decided to turn away from God instead of turning too Him. I know this because within our culture today sexual immorality of all kinds is prevalent. Everything from adultery, being promiscuous, living together, pornography, same sex relationships, and the list continues to grow daily. But out of all the sins spoken of in the Bible, the only one which goes against the body is sexual immorality. Why is this? Because our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Which means, everything we do, that does not align with scripture, we are putting the Holy Spirit through the same thing. Whether this is by thought, deed or watching these things in movies, we know it’s sinful. And as a Christian, this is absolutely mortifying to me.

My Prayer
Heavenly Father, as I approach Your throne of Glory and Grace, I pray for those who are struggling with sexual immorality of all kinds. I especially pray for Christians who are experiencing these issues and ask to open their eyes to this destructive, deadly path. Remove this stain from them so they can begin a time of healing filled with repentance. Lead them in your righteousness as they begin a new journey filled with love, praising, worshiping, praying and glorifying You. For those who are non-believers, I pray their hearts are humbled allowing them to realize just how much they’re in need of the Lord Jesus. All these things I pray, in Jesus name and through Him I pray…Amen

2 Peter 3:8,9

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Power in the Good News

During my journey through the scriptures I’ve learned many Church leaders, preachers, evangelists, and those in charge of spreading the Good News of Christ Jesus have failed their congregations because they continue to allow sin to permeate the church. They change their doctrines to accomodate the latest trends of this world instead of tackling the issue of sin, the need for repentance, and teaching the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Today Churches are experiencing division within their walls. Half of the members embrace worldly sin while the other half is staying true to the teachings of Christ. Jesus said in Mattew;

These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They’re worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God. Matthew 15:8,9 (NASB)

You see there is POWER in the Good News, the Gospel, that Jesus and the Apostles taught. When sinners heard this POWERFUL MESSAGE, it was God at work changing their hearts. In the book of Romans, the scripture reads;

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes – the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the scripture says, it is through faith that a righteous person has life. Romans 1:16,17 (NLT)

You see, if the Churches aren’t preaching the Good News, if they’re not preaching on sin, on the need for repentance, on the need to SIN NO MORE than THEIR MESSAGE is in vain, it’s NOT biblical and it’s NOT the message Christ Jesus and the Apostles taught. Yes, LOVE is a huge part of the Good News because it’s this LOVE which God exteneded to us, His Grace, through Christ to save us. And it’s this same LOVE which compels Christians to tell others about the Good News of Christ Jesus. But it is the grace of God that brings salvation which happens through the Good News, the Message of Christ Jesus. The scripture reads;

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteous, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Titus 2:11-14

But when a Church only teaches about love, about living your best life now, about prosperity, about worldly possessions, then, this Church is failing it’s members, it’s failing the Gospel Message, it’s failing Jesus, it’s failing God and places us under condemnation. The scriptures read;

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to Himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. Galatians 1:6-9 (NLT)

In fact, these Church leaders are preaching the EXACT opposite of what God’s LOVE is truly about!
