Jesus and the Third Seal, the Black Horse

Recently I spoke about Jesus and the Second Seal, the Red Horse, which ushers in the rider who takes peace from the earth. Now let’s turn our attention to the third seal in the Book of Revelation for a  comparison to the teachings of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. It’s important for Christians to be aware what will happen during these difficult times. Personally, it seems we are further along than many realize and we could easily be living in the end of days, or, last days. Which brings up the subject many Christians believe will take place, the Rapture, or being caught up. Which I plan on discussing soon.

But regardless of where we are in the Book of Revelation we are to continue sharing the Good News just as our Lord Jesus Christ instructed. This is so others can learn about God and His great love for mankind and hopefully keep them from the Lake of Fire.

The Third Seal – Famine, Scarcity

Revelation 6:5,6 – When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and See.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

The third seal introduces the rider on the black horse. But let’s read Matthew, Mark and Luke to see how it aligns with the Third Seal of Revelation.

Matthew 24:7b – And there will be famines.

Mark 13:8c – And there will be famines and troubles.

Luke 21:11b – And famines and pestilences;

For Matthew, I use 7b, for Mark 8c and Luke 11b. The reason I wrote the scriptures in this way is because the earliest manuscripts in Greek did not contain punctuation, spaces between words, had no Chapter Dividers, no individual headings, but, one long, continuous page of words. Man is the one who added punctuation, spaces, chapters and headings for ease of reading. This could be one of the reasons many people do not associate the teachings of Christ to the Seals found in the Book of Revelation. But as you can see, from the very teachings of the Lord Christ Jesus, His words align perfectly with what the Apostle John saw in the Book of Revelation regarding the third seal.

Glory be to God, we are drawing near! Make sure your heart is right with God Almighty and if it’s not REPENT now and follow our King, the Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you all…

Peace And Safety

It has come to my attention how many believers are under attack lately. Spiritual warfare on those who truly believe and are not merely identifying themselves as Christians without knowing Jesus personally. There are some who don’t know Him at all or only think they do,

Following False Teachings

What’s going on in the churches today is similar to what Jesus spoke to the multitudes and His disciples saying, woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! As you continue reading you’ll come across the scripture where Jesus calls them a brood of vipers. And when you think about it that’s pretty much what we’re seeing today.

Pastors, prophets, theologians, evangelist, those who are responsible for providing sound teaching on sin, repentance, forgiveness, righteousness and godly character couldn’t be further away from the Gospel Jesus and His disciples taught. Those who read the Bible for themselves know that preaching a portion of the Gospel of Jesus want save those who truly need to hear the message. So I started wondering and thinking;

Why do majority of pastors, prophets, theologians and evangelist not preach the gospel?

Have they forgotten they’ll be held at a higher degree of accountability than others because of the postion they’ve taken? Yet they continue to lead many astray!

It seems the only scriptures in the Bible these spiritual leaders are concerned with are the ones which refer to prosperity, and giving financially. These pastors, preachers and evangelist have a way of twisting the truth of the scriptures to benefit themselves. They live in the flesh and more concerned with money and the finer things in life than reaching the lost.

What can we learn from these men?

Besides the fact they don’t teach Biblical truth, they don’t preach about the teachings of Jesus, the Apostles, they don’t teach about Jesus birth and how He came in the flesh born of a virgin. They don’t teach of His Crucifixion, how Jesus was sacrificed and took our penalty of sin, which is death. They don’t talk about how He was resurrected on the third Day and how He’s coming back in all His glory and wrath! They speak of none of these things, instead, they stand in front of their congregation leading them astray!

My heart breaks for these people because they don’t have eyes to see, or ears to hear. There’s no discernment, no understanding of truth and their hearts are not prepared.

How do you know a false pastor, prophet, theologian or evangelist? You know them by their fruit.

Ask yourself, are they worldly? Do they live in the flesh? Are they concerned with money? Do they put on a show in the church? Do they speak of sin, repentance or reading the bible? Do they teach the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ? Do they teach the doctrines of men rather than Christ?

God says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)

For instance, many Christians believe in a pre-tribulation rapture because theologians have taught this. But, that’s just not biblical. There will be persecution in the church, it’s happened before and it will happen again. Jesus says in His own words;

Immediately after the tribulations of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give it’s light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the power of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24:29-31

Nowhere, did Jesus say He would rapture the church before hand. And since we know God is consistent, the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, you can count on the Church being persecuted. The Book of Revelation and the teachings of the Apostle Paul all line up with what Jesus spoke of. The reason this is so important is if you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture and it doesn’t happen, you want be prepared for what’s coming and you could very easily find yourself denying Jesus.

Read your Bibles, know what the scriptures say because a time is coming…….

And true Christians MUST speak Biblical truth.
