Jesus and the Second Seal, the Red Horse

Recently I spoke about Jesus and the First Seal, the White Horse, which ushers in the false christs. But now it’s time to turn to our attention to the second seal in the Book of Revelation and compare it to the teachings of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. It’s important for Churches to be teaching these things that are leading up to the tribulations, the end times, along with preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ so people can understand what will take place and what the Lord Jesus Christ said about this difficult time.

The Second Seal – Peace From Earth, War

Revelation 6:3,4 – When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and See.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

The second seal introduces the rider on the red horse. But let’s read Matthew, Mark and Luke to see how it aligns with the Second Seal of Revelation.

Matthew 24:6,7a – And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

Mark 13:7,8a – But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

Luke 21:9,10 – But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately. Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

Notice in Matthew, I use 7a and in Mark 8a. The reason I wrote the scriptures in this way is because the earliest manuscripts in Greek did not contain punctuation, spaces between words, had no Chapter Dividers, no individual headings, but, one long, continuous page of words. Man is the one who added punctuation, spaces, chapters and headings for ease of reading. This could be one of the reasons many people do not associate the teachings of Christ to the Seals found in the Book of Revelation. But as you can see, from the very teachings of the Lord Christ Jesus, His words aligns perfectly with what the Apostle John saw in the Book of Revelation regarding the second seal.

Glory be to God, we are drawing near! Make sure your heart is right with God Almighty and if it’s not REPENT now and follow our King, the Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you all…

There’s Always Been War

While I was reading in the Book of Matthew it occurred to me that many people, including some Christians, really don’t understand the whole “birth pangs” statement Yeshua (Jesus, Joshua, the Messiah, Son of God) made when giving these prophecies. The scriptures read;

And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will mislead many people. And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. But all these things  are merely the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24:4-8

Often when this subject is discussed, non-believers and even some Christians, will say, “there’s always been war” and we’ve always had earthquakes, so, this prophecy doesn’t make sense. But as I read I thought maybe if those who don’t understand this could see it from a different perspective it may make a little more sense.

You see, I noticed that Jesus listed all these things together, false christ misleading many, wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom, famines, earthquakes in various places. So if you look at this as ALL these things happening at the SAME TIME and happening more frequently with an increase in intensity, it means we’re experiencing the beginning of birth pains.

Just like a pregnant woman who goes into labor, at first, her pains or erratic, light, and slow, but as the baby’s time draws closer to being delivered, her labor pains increase in frequency and intensity.

Maybe this is what Jesus meant when He spoke of the beginning of birth pains, meaning, when you see all these things coming together, in frequency and intensity, know the stage is being set.
