Worship in Spirit

Reading the Bible is a must for anyone who longs to learn about God Almighty, about Christ Jesus, about Truth, about the Kingdom, and what is expected from a believer. When I first started reading the Bible there were many scriptures that puzzled me, one of those reads;

As I reflected on this, my first question was, how do I worship God in Spirit?

Worshipping in truth I felt would come in time as I continued reading the Bible, but, worshipping God in Spirit, well, I had no clue. So I did an enormous amount of reading, studying and researching. Unfortunately, I didn’t find what I was looking for until I turned to the Strong’s Concordance then it all came together.

Spirit is interchangeable with the words wind or breath and depending on it’s context will determine the actual usage. But, what I found extremely fascinating is how the words wind and breath can be used together to represent worshipping in the Spirit.

In the Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, the word wind is a movement of air (gentle) blast. Breath is of the nostrils or mouth. So when we combine these two together we speaks words from our mouth which causes a gentle constant flow of words.

But there’s one last element to worshipping in the Spirit, and that’s the heart. You see I can create a constant flow of words but if those words aren’t reflective of what’s in my heart, they mean nothing. Because, Yehovah, God Almighty, wants us to speak words from the heart, words of praise, words of thankfulness, words of blessings and words of love.

At least, this is how it appears to me.

Abram Journeys to Egypt

Abram (#Abraham), continued passing through the land and came to the mountain on the east of Bethel where he pitched his tent. With Bethel on the West and Ai on the East Abram built an altar to the Lord and called on His name. I would imagine at the point Abram called on the Lord Yehovah, he was worshiping, offering praise and thanksgiving, since, the words the Lord had spoken were coming to pass. But, Abram continued the journey toward Negev, which is the south country of Judah before heading into Egypt temporarily due to a famine in the land.

When he and his wife Sarai were about to enter Egypt they had a conversation and Abram asked Sarai to tell the Egyptians that she was his sister. Abram believed the Egyptians would kill him and take his wife Sarai who was a beautiful woman. Just as Abram had suspected that’s exactly what took place. But it wasn’t just the people who noticed Sarai’s beauty, it was also the Pharaoh’s princes who praised Sarai to Pharaoh. No surprise Pharaoh decides to take her into his harem (house) for the purpose of marriage. Since they believed Abram (Abraham) was Sarai’s (Sarah) brother they treated him well and he secured sheep, oxen, donkeys, camels and servants.

It’s at this point everything takes a turn. The Lord punishes Pharaoh and his household with severe plagues because of Sarai. How Pharaoh knew all these plagues were due to Abram the Bible doesn’t say. But, Pharaoh called to Abram wanting to know why Abram didn’t tell him Sarai was his wife, but instead, claimed she was his sister. Remember, Pharaoh had taken Sarai into his harem and planned to take her as his wife.

So what happens to Abram and Sarai?

Pharaoh gives Sarai back to Abram and sends them away. In other words, Pharaoh wanted them escorted out of his area he didn’t want to lay eyes on either of them. So, Abram, his wife Sarai, Lot (his nephew) and everything he acquired in Egypt, left and headed toward Negev (the South country of Judah). Think about it, the whole time Abram was in Egypt he had acquired wealth in the form of livestock, gold, silver and servants.

Which meant Abram had alot to contend with on his journey out of Egypt back to Negev. He journeyed as far as Bethel to the very location his tent had been at the beginning between Bethel and Ai. And, it was at this first altar Abram originally built that he called upon the name of the Lord.

Considerations
This story gives us an inside look into what happens when we put our belief and trust in the Lord. One may think at first glance, it had to be extremely difficult for Abram knowing that another man had taken his wife, not to mention, the Pharaoh of Egypt. And I’m sure Sarai was in a constant state of distress not knowing what would happen to her. But, there are signs to indicate the Lord was protecting Abram and Sarai during this time. The talk Abram and Sarai had prior to entering Egypt instructing Sarai to say she was Abrams sister, Pharaoh treating Abram well providing sheep, oxen, donkeys, camels, servants, silver and gold. The Plagues sent by the Lord Yehovah to punish Pharaoh, and after Abram received everything he needed to sustain his family during the famine the Lord had Pharaoh give Sarai back to Abram and escort them out. While we may not understand the difficulties we’re currently going through, as long as we keep our focus on the Lord, trust and believe in him, we’ll see his blessings grow. And if we look back during those difficult times we may realize just how the Lord’s blessings sustained us even when we couldn’t see the way.

Walking in Darkness

The other night I was reading in the Book of Romans and I was able to understand what’s going on in our world today. Yes, it’s Bible Prophecy things which were foretold long ago, but, it goes much deeper than that. These things didn’t happen over night and from what I have read it starts out with this;

For the wrath of God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:18-20

Is it any wonder the world will suffer God’s wrath?

Those who refuse to acknowledge God, His creation and His power or doomed, because, we’re told He made it so we could plainly understand and would be without excuse. All one needs to do is look around at nature, the different plants, the animals and mankind to understand we were created. Since mankind is so complex, multicellular, and each of our systems works independently and upon one another, there’s no doubt in my mind that we were wonderfully created by Almighty Yəhōwā (God, Jevoha, Yahweh).

But Jevoha didn’t stop there, no, he provided more information and this ties directly into what we see with what’s going on in our country and the world today. The Apostle Paul says;

For even though they knew God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh), they did not honor Him as God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) for an image in the form of corruptible mankind, of birds, four-footed animals, and crawling creatures. Therefore God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) gave them up to vile impurity of the lusts of their hearts, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) for falsehood, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Romans 1:21-25

This is exactly what’s going on in our country today. Those who claim science is the answer to everything, those who believe in themselves instead of God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh), those who blatanly refuse to accept God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) as our CREATOR, their hearts have been darkened and they’ve been given over to vile impurity of the lust of their hearts.

It’s why we see so much lawlessness and corruption taking place today. These are those who have refused to accept, acknowledge and honor God (Jevoha, Yəhōwā, Yahweh) as our Creator. But one final thought which the Apostle Paul makes when he says;

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not properpeople having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:26-31

From these scriptures alone we can see that the world’s corruption, wickedness and evilness today stems from the fact that people have rejected the Creator, Jevoha (Yəhōwā, Yahweh, God), and when this happens He gives them over to a depraved mind.

What we see going on in our world today is a direct implication of this, the transhuman agenda, the transgender ideology, homosexuality, abortion, murder, smash and grabs, the climate control cult, vaccination mandates, corruption in the church, in politics and in schools, the new age cult, and those who are lovers of themselves (those who tend to be narcissistic, sociopathic, psychopathic, authoritarian and dictators) are compromised.

But there is hope, in the Son of God, the Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus! He can turn their darkness into light and they can live an eternal life in His Kingdom just by hearing and accepting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2
