Iran Attacks Israel News

Breaking news that will affect every Christian is the attack on Israel by Iran today. Which means Christians will go through tough days ahead if this attack continues and turns into a full pledge war. If it does escalate chances are many countries will be involved. As Christians we must ensure we are adhering to the Lord Jesus Christ teachings during these Biblical times. This means we pray for Israel, but, we also pray for all of God’s people in the Middle East.

We must pray and ask God for His protection over His people, His remnant, His Church and His Chosen Ones. This includes all who believe and follow Yeshua the Messiah/Jesus the Christ regardless of their nationality or the country they reside in. Yes, we pray and ask God to bless Israel, but, we must also remember to stay in alignment with the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Especially those teachings where the Lord spoke of persecution and our enemies. The Scriptures read;

Matthew 5:43,45 – You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be Sons of your Father in Heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Christians tend to forget, that yes while we love Israel, we must be very careful how we approach this subject. Scripture teaches;

1 Peter 3:9 – Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Pray for All people to REPENT and turn their hearts to the Son of God, Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah), who was sacrificed for our sins and reconciled us to God through His blood. I’m also reminded of the scripture which reads;

Matthew 15:18,20 – But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. These are what defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile him.

This is why all Christians must be very careful what they say and how they say it. While we love Israel and pray for the Jewish people, we’re called to LOVE all God’s People.

May God’s Grace bless you daily,
bring you closer to the Lord Jesus Christ
and Sanctify you in God’s Truth!

Be Kind to All

If you read the Bible one of the first things you’ll notice in the New Testament is just how humble and compassionate the Lord Jesus was to the Israelites when He walked among them.

He walked throughout Israel healing, casting out demons, raising the dead and preaching the Good Message of the Kingdom, all while teaching God’s Chosen people the right way to live. He showered the people with mercy, forgiveness, compassion  and love.

He also taught we should be kind to all people, including, loving our enemies. For many Americans this is difficult, especially, with what’s happening within our Country today. But since I’m a follower of Christ I know I must have the same mindset. Because the Lord Jesus said;

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44,45

For me, this Scripture says it all. So my prayer is that all Christians realize this message before it’s too late. Jesus left us a blueprint for living the right way through His teachings. But He also gives us the ability to make our own choice. To follow Him, or, follow the ways of this world.

Peace Instead of Choas

Our world seems to be spinning further out of control. While many have lost hope, my hope, is in the Lord Christ Jesus, the Son of God, who came to save the world. Which means as a believer I must speak God’s truth. Which is the same Truth Jesus (Yeshua/Yehoshua), the Christ (Messiah), of Nazareth taught. Since I believe in Him all of my belief, my trust, my faith and my hope is in Christ Jesus, along with everything He taught. One of those teachings Jesus taught is the need to love our enemies and do good to them. But it doesn’t stop there, because the Apostle Peter also taught something similar, the scriptures read;

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

1 Peter 3:9-12

From Jesus teachings to the teachings of the Apostles, it’s pretty clear, violence, riots, insurrections, and protests was never intended for a believer. Unfortunately, many Christian believers are abandoning these teachings and purchasing guns and stocking up on ammunition. Jesus never condoned violence and He taught His Apostles the same. So, why is it many Christians are more concerned with their families, property, and earthly treasures instead of following the Lord Jesus teachings? Remember what Jesus said;

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:28

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we should be encouraging one another, building each other up and standing firm in the Faith. We cannot fear but must proclaim the Truth Jesus taught. It’s better to die in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, then it is to shoot someone all in the name of protecting your earthly treasures.

Being Obedient

I’ve noticed many people are receiving dreams and vision which are providing information of things to come. I do believe God sends messages to wake His people up. But not only to wake them up, but, to spread the message and ensure we are walking in the Righteous Way which Jesus taught. I’m convinced a time is coming on us that will take many by surprise. America is about to see difficult times in which we’ve never experienced. Prepare your hearts, follow the Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming back.

And remember, Christ is before everyone and everything. What is transpiring in America with Christian persecution is happening. So be prepared to stand on your FAITH, your BELIEF in the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as the Apostles Peter and John did when they were brought before the Sanhedrin for professing the name Jesus (or Yeshua/Yehoshua), the scriptures read;

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name
of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight
to listen to you rather than God. For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 4:18-20

When I first started my journey through the scriptures over two years ago I wasn’t exactly sure who Jesus was. That is, till I had a dream where GOD told me to get to know Him. So, for over the past two years that’s exactly what I’ve done and thought I would share a bit of Old Testament scriptures which will enlighten and hopefully open the eyes of those who are struggling with the same issue I struggled with. I’ll share these scriptures in several translations to help grasp the implication.

Isaiah 43:10,13 (BSB) – “You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and My Servant whom I have chosen, so that you may consider and believe Me and understand that I AM HE. Before Me no God was formed, and after Me none will come. I, yes I, am the LORD, and there is NO Savior but Me. I alone decreed and saved and proclaimed-I, not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God. Even from eternity I am He, and none can deliver out of My hand. When I act who can reverse it?

Isaiah 43:10,13 (NKJB) – “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no savior. I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses,” Says the Lord, “that I am God. Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?”

Isaiah 43:10,13 (ARA) – You are my witnesses, says LORD JEHOVAH, and my Servants whom I have chosen, and you shall know, and you shall believe in me, and you shall understand that I am he, and before me there has not been a God created, and none shall be after me I AM LORD JEHOVAH and there is none again outside of me I have shown and I have saved and I have made heard and there is not among you a foreigner, and you are my witnesses, says LORD JEHOVAH, and I am God also, from the first day I AM THE LIVING GOD. There is none who is saved from my hands, and who is turning back anything that I do?

Hope this helps others understand that God is Jesus, just in a different role. Jesus told us that God is Spirit, which I believe is the Father and He can manifest Himself in ways we can’t understand. But while there is only ONE GOD, He is multifaceted. The Word became, the Son of God, John 1:1 tells us;

In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was
God. He was in the beginning with God.

Tongues of Fire

Today as I was reading in the Book of Acts I came across scriptures which I find very intriguing. And as usual for me during my study I’ll often use various bibles to help with the meaning. The scriptures I’m referring to are those spoken of by the Apostles in the famous delivery speech at the day of Pentecost. We’re told how tongues of fire settled on each of the Apostles and they were filled with the Set apart Spirit and began to speak in tongues according to what the Spirit gave them to speak. The scriptures continues to tell us that when the men begin speaking that the crowd came together and were confused. The reason these men were confused is because they heard the Apostles speaking in each of their own languages. Today we recognize this as speaking in tongues.

But Peter stood up and began speaking to the crowd explaining to them the wonders of God or the great deeds of God. What’s interesting as I continued reading there were other scriptures which really caught my attention, they read;

Acts 2:21 (NASB) – And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.

When I first read this scripture using a standard Bible the text seemed pretty straight forward. However, by using various Bibles, these scriptures really came alive for me. I’ve listed a couple below so you can see exactly what I’m referring to and just how important it is to use various Bibles while studying.

Acts 2:21 (ISR) – And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of  יהוה (Jehovah) shall be saved.

Acts 2:21 (ARA) – And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of THE LORD JEHOVAH shall receive life.

Acts 2:21 (HEB) – And everyone who calls on Jehovah will escape.

But as I continued reading there were more scriptures which I had to share, because, they really open the door to the multifaceted nature of God. These scriptures in various Bibles read;

Acts 2:36 (ARA) – Let therefore the whole house of Israel know truly, God has made this Yeshua, LORD JEHOVAH and The Messiah, whom you have crucified.

Acts 2:36 (NASB) – Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Messiah) this Jesus whom you crucified.

Acts 2:36 (ISR) – Therefore let all the house of Yisra’ĕl know for certain that Elohim has made this יהושע (Yeshua/Yehoshua), whom you impaled, both Master and Messiah.

If you continue reading you’ll find more scriptures which can help one understand the importance of calling on the actual name of God. And I’m reminded of an Old Testament scripture which reads;

Ezekiel 36:23 (ARA) – For I shall hallow My Great Name which is defiled among the nations, which you have defiled among them, and the nations shall know that I AM LORD JEHOVAH, says the LORD OF LORDS, whenever I am hallowed among you in their sight.

What I’ve noticed in scripture is anytime there is a J used in the English word it’s often translated as a Y in Hebrew. So instead of the name being Jehovah, in my mind it should be Yehovah. For instance, Jerusalem in English is, Yerushalayim in Hebrew, Jeremiah in English is, Yermiyahu in Hebrew, Joshua in English is, Yehoshua in Hebrew, Josiah in English is, Yoshiyah in Hebrew and Judah in English is, Yehudah in Hebrew.

Many know His name as YHVH, and, when you look at these letters and compared them to the name Yehovah, well, it maybe. But regardless, I know I don’t want to blaspheme the Lord’s name so I believe it’s time to take it to The Lord God, Jehovah in prayer!

If I Could Speak to Benjamin Netanyahu

Many Christians find themselves stuck somewhere in the middle of what is happening between Israel and the Palestinian people unable to make a decision of who they support. But for me, the Bible is quite clear on this issue because Jesus said;

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in
return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for
He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful just as your Father is merciful.

Luke 6:35

So, if I had the opportunity to speak to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, what would I say?

First, I would start off by saying, two wrongs don’t make a right! Plain and simple what Hamas did to the nation of Israel is absolutely horrific, wrong and absolutely evil! But, we do not repay evil with evil! God gave Israel His Law, His statues and decrees, or, what many Jewish people refer to as the Mosaic Law. Within this Law it clearly states, do not commit murder because those who are under this Law will be judged by this law. You see, since majority of the Israeli people still live under the old covenant, they will be judged by it which means if they break one of the least of these commandments they break them all.

However, saying all this there are Bible Prophecies inspired by the Prophets of the Old Testament that will be fulfilled. So knowing this, I’m not condemning are judging what Israel is doing just stating what Jesus taught.

There will be many soldiers who loose their life and these are those who follow the Old Covenant. When Yeshua (Jesus) came to shepherd the Jewish people almost two thousand years ago they rejected Him. But in the last days, Christ will rise up and will fight their battle and everything will change.

While I know the Torah (Old Testament) was written and inspired by the words, an eye for an eye, are there any scriptures found within the Old Testament we can examine to prove there were those who showed mercy instead of killing? Let’s read the scriptures of David and King Saul, which reads;

May the LORD judge between you and me, and may the LORD take vengeance on you, but my hand will never be against you. As the old proverb says, ‘Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand will never be against you. Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea? May the LORD be our judge and decide between you and me. May He take notice and plead my case and deliver me from your hand.” When David had finished saying these things, Saul called back, “Is that your voice, David my son?”

Then Saul wept aloud and said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have rewarded me with good, though I have rewarded you with evil. And you have shown this day how well you have dealt with me; for when the LORD delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me. When a man finds his enemy, does he let him go away unharmed? May the LORD reward you with good for what you have done for me this day.

1 Samuel 24:12-19

While many Christians are mourning with those who have lost loved ones in Israel, and praying for the safe return of the hostages, we must also pray for the Palestinians who are being used as pawns with these terrorists and denounce this demonic evil. But as a believer in the Messiah, Yeshua, Christ Jesus, this is a time to show love and mercy instead of anger, rage, and hate. I’ll leave you with these scriptures;

Colossians 3:8 – But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Colossians 3:12 – Since GOD chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Proverbs 10:12 – Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Psalm 34:13 – Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD and vengeance is mine says the LORD!

Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Ekron in Bible Prophecy

I was a bit surprised when I came across this Bible prophecy which speaks of Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Ekron. Although it speaks of the Philistines, we can see the similarities. You see, in this prophecy God calls them a shameful nation and tells them to gather together before the decree takes effect before the Day of the LORD’s anger comes upon them. But let’s look at these scriptures, which reads;

Gather yourselves, gather together, O shameful nation, before the decree takes effect and the day passes like chaff, before the burning anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the Day of the Lord’s anger comes upon you. Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth who carry out His justice. Seek righteousness; seek humility. Perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.

For Gaza will be abandoned, and Ashkelon left in ruins. Ashdod will be driven out at noon, and Ekron will be uprooted. Woe to the dwellers of the seacoast, O nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines: “I will destroy you, and no one will be left.” So the seacoast will become a land of pastures, with wells for shepherds and folds for sheep. The coast will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and restore their captives.

Zephaniah 2:1-7

As a believer, I’m praying for the hearts of Israel, the Palestinians and the terrorists involved to turn away from these atrocities and turn to the LORD. I’m also praying for GOD’s will to be done and NOT mans. And just as things have happened thousand of years ago we are watching history repeat itself.

Regardless of your belief, in the darkest hour there is hope for those who trust, believe, and rely on the LORD!

What Did Jesus Say?

My journey through the scriptures led me to a place which has me questioning a remark Christ made during His sermon on the mount. During His teaching, He says;

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven,
but only he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me
on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your
name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them
plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you workers of lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23

What did Jesus mean by this? To me the clue lies in His statement, which is, “he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.” And look what else he says, “depart from Me you workers of lawlessness.”

What is God’s will and why does Jesus call them workers of lawlessness?

Lawlessness is going against God’s Law, which means, those who don’t keep His commandments along with His ordinances and statues are considered lawbreakers. So what exactly does this mean? To answer this I revisited the scriptures found in Ezekiel which states;

I will give you a new heart an put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put MY Spirit within you and cause you to walk in MY Statues, and you will keep MY Judgments and do them.

Ezekiel 36:26,27 (ISR)

From this scripture alone, we can see, God is VERY serious about walking in His Statues and His Judgments. He wants us to follow His commands and do what is right. In fact, He tells us that His Spirit will cause us to walk in His Laws and we will keep His Judgments and we will do them.

Which means, once we repent of our sins, and believe in Jesus as the Son of God, as the Christ, who came to set us free by becoming the sacrifice and paying the penalty of death, we’re given a new heart and a new Spirit, the Spirit of God. But something else I found during my study, the scriptures read;

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:1-5

You see, the Apostles never taught that the commandments weren’t to be followed, it was quite the opposite. What they taught was that our FAITH and belief in Christ Jesus, Yeshua, as the Son of God would give us a new heart and a new Spirit so we could keep God’s law. To illustrate this point, look at the very words of one of the three angels written in the Book of Revelation, which reads;

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep
the commandments of God AND the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 14:12

Notice what one of the three Angels said, those who KEEP God’s commandments AND the FAITH of Jesus. Meaning, this isn’t optional, it’s non-negotiable! But to illustrate this even further, let’s examine the very words of Jesus which He provided at the end of Revelation, which reads;

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Revelation 22:14,15

So ask yourself, am I being guided to follow God’s commands, OR, am I following a false doctrine which is twisted by man and emphasizes a belief that the Law was nailed to the cross? Because, Jesus states himself, nothing will pass from the Law until heaven and earth pass away.

Please understand, I’m NOT suggesting we follow the Law as the Jewish people did, no, what I’m trying to say is, it’s OUR FAITH in CHRIST which makes us SPIRTIUALLY keep GOD’s LAW.

But the BELIEF that the LAW was nailed to the cross is NOT biblical, per Jesus. And that’s my whole point.

The Importance of Hebrews 4

My journey through the scriptures has taught me it’s extremely important to read the Bible, to study it and to listen to those who are acknowledgeable without bringing in man’s doctrines or rules. Hebrew 4 speaks of entering God’s rest.

Let’s read the scriptures to see what it says

Hebrews 4:1-3 ~ Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it. For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it. Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said:

“So I swore an oath in My anger,
‘They shall never enter My rest.’ ”

And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world.

From the very beginning as you read these scriptures, it makes the remark that “entering His rest still stands”. But the only way to enter His rest is by believing in the good news. However, the scriptures provide more information, it states for we also received the good news just as they did but because of their unbelief, their lack of faith, they would not enter God’s rest. So in God’s anger He swore an oath they would NEVER enter His rest.

Who is the Apostle Paul referring to when He says “they” and why did He quote GOD?

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, 
led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with
those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did
He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 3:16-19

Again, we see the Apostle Paul is referring to the Jewish people of the Old Testament who was led by Moses out of Egypt. From these scriptures GOD became angry with them because they rebelled, they did NOT obey. What did they NOT obey? Let’s read from Jeremiah in the Old Testament, which says;

Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths,
where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘we will not walk in it’.

Jeremiah 6:16

What was the old paths that lead to the good way? It was God’s Law along with His statues and ordinances. And it’s the very reason Isaiah says;

This is what the LORD says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for My salvation
is coming soon, and My righteousness will be revealed. Blessed is the man who
does this, and the son of man who holds it fast, and who keeps the Sabbath without profaning it and keeps His hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 56:1,2

But Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the prophecies, but, how?

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, we walk in His path and the Holy Spirit is there to help guide, to teach, to lead and to keep us from sinning among many other spiritual jobs. But, we can still sin if we ignore the Holy Spirit and live according to the flesh. But to provide further information, Jesus says this;

Matthew 11:28,29 (NASB) – Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Now let’s re-read from another Biblical version.

Matthew 11:28,29 (AMP) – “Come to Me, all who are heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS.

What is the message of this scripture?

Come to Me, Follow Me as My disciple, learn from Me, do as I do and I will give you REST! The REST Jesus speaks of is our SALVATION! But we must EMULATE CHRIST, to pick up our cross and follow Him. And even Jesus says in Revelation,

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.

Revelation 14:12,13

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, when we believe in Him we’re given the Holy Spirit as a pledge, as a guarantee. And it’s the Holy Spirit which guides, teaches, convicts, prays for us, gives spiritual gifts, comforts, and leads us so we can walk in God’s ways. But faith comes by believing in Christ. Because when we believe, we receive forgiveness of sin, our hearts are purified, we are justified, we are sanctified, we receive God’s peace, our faith grows, we receive salvation, the fruit of the spirit works within us, and we enter God’s rest.

Because we walk by FAITH not by SIGHT

Understanding Colossians 2:14

For those of us who live in the Western world we need to remember, Jesus (Yeshua) is Jewish, so, everything He does will be inline with the Jewish culture. So let’s dive into the issue of Colossians 2:14 that many Christians misunderstand. For one to fully grasp this, I’ll post the scripture from several different Bibles which will make it easier to comprehend. The scripture states;

Colossians 2:14 NASB – Having canceled the certificate of death consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross.

Colossians 2:14 NKJB – Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Colossians 2:14 AMP – Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of legal demands [which were in force] against us and which were hostile to us. And this certificate He has set aside and completely removed by nailing it to the cross.

Colossians 2:14 ISR 1998 – Having blotted out the certificate of debt against us – by the dogmas – which stood against us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the stake.

Colossians 2:14 Peshitta (Aramaic) – And He has blotted out by His authority the bill of our debts which was adverse to us and He took it from the midst and nailed it to the cross.

When Western people read this scripture they automatically think it’s referring to God’s Law, the 10 commandments that was nailed to the cross. But ask yourself, does it make sense that God would put HIS LAW within us, write it on our hearts and mind as part of the NEW COVENANT, yet, have HIS people disregard His Commandments? Does that make any sense at all?

Let’s examine and break this scripture down.

God’s Law, the ten commandments, were taught in every synagogue on the Sabbath and we know from scripture that Paul stated multiple times that the Law is Holy. So when Paul states, “having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of legal demands” OR “dogmas” OR “handwriting of requirements” he’s referring to the laws, the decrees that the Pharisees, Scribes along with the Roman rulers, Pharaoh, added on top of God’s law. Making it impossible to follow God’s Commandments. Remember, the Roman rulers were the Beast system during that time.

And, if you continue reading you’ll soon realize just “why” the Apostle Paul stated to the people, why do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch! He was making a point, which was, these are man’s rules, not God’s. Jesus came to remove that penalty for breaking God’s Law NOT to remove the ten commandments. They were NEVER nailed to the cross, only the commandments of men, their decrees, their dogma and legal demands.

For those who are wondering about the statement made, “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or in regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbat”. At that time the Church was being attacked by Orthodox Judaism stating the Jewish people had to be circumcised, had to celebrate other feast and sabbaths that were NOT given by God not to mention the celebrations the Roman Empire inflicted. So Paul was making it clear to the people that when you accept Yeshua as the Lord and believe in Him He would remove the penalty of death, and give them the Holy Spirit so they would be able to follow God’s Law spiritually. This is also the reason Jesus went off on the Scribes and Pharisees when He spoke the many WOE’s against them. But to the crowds and to His disciples He says;

“The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So practice and observe everything they
tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 
They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they
themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

Matthew 23:1-4

While the Ten Commandments are still valid, it is the Holy Spirit which guides, teaches and helps us to walk in them avoiding sin. Of course, Jesus also stated;

Jesus declared, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

Matthew 22:37-40

But to further clarify my point, lets review the words Jesus said when He made the statement;

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Matthew 5:17,18

Jesus tells us in simple dialect, the Law and the Prophecies are still valid and will not disappear until heaven and earth pass away. The Law is still valid because they help us determine what sin is and the Holy Spirit helps us to walk in righteousness which helps us avoid breaking them. But, as with everything, God gives us free will so we can choose to ignore the Holy Spirit and break the law, especially, when we choose to follow man!

But don’t take my word for it, STUDY the SCRIPTURES for yourself and KNOW what they say because there are many false Christ and false teachers in the world today.

Each morning I begin my day with personal time with Jesus. It always begins with offerings of gratitude and praise for all He has done, all He is doing and all He will do. And for who He is— Holy, worthy, faithful and Savior.

Then I pray for my family— my husband, my children, their spouses and my grandchildren. I am very specific in this portion of my prayers and I felt to share with you my prayers for them so that you can pray, decree and cover your family in the same way.

As I journey through the scriptures I find myself reflecting on everything I see going on in this world. I can’t help but notice just how different society is today than when I was growing up. People are changing. Those who don’t know the love of God or His gift of grace through Christ Jesus will continue to spiral out of control. We’ll see more and more the darker side of humanity. But regardless how difficult life is, or gets, the LORD sees those who are humble and contrite in spirit. He sees those who are distressed or anguish over their sin, and, are truly afraid of the consequences from living an immoral lifestyle. These are those He seeks, those who aren’t afraid to humble themselves before Him and ask for forgiveness. Because it’s these He can mold and shape into what they were always meant to be; loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, self controlled and true Spirit worshippers.

My Prayer
God Almighty, I pray for those who are oppressed, broken, and feel they have nowhere to turn. Take their pain and use it to bring them to you so they can experience your love, compassion, kindness and your salvation. Remove the shackles of addiction, abuse, mental health issues, toxic relationships, loneliness and homelessness. Use me as your tool to help reach those who feel they’re worthless and forgotten so I can assure them they are loved beyond anything they’ve ever experienced. Put a desire in your people to help one another so we can give sight to the blind, to heal the sick, raise the dead, and help the lame to walk. All these things I pray in the name of and through the Son of God, Yeshua, Jesus, the Christ. Amen!

Live by the Spirit

Our country is living in dark times with many choosing to follow the ways of this world. But distractions are nothing more than temptations used against man to push them further away from Christ. As a believer I’m called to walk in the Spirit and to embrace the fruit of the Spirit with open arms. For me to walk in the Spirit I must choose love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. All things which help me to keep my focus on Christ, on His Church and to spread the Good News of His Kingdom. When we live by the Spirit we must ensure we are walking in the Spirit with persoanl integrity, godly character and moral courage, otherwise, non-believers, will use us as their reason to continually reject Christ.

My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray for this world that is so full of hate, unrest and is completely divided. My heart grieves, because, I see so many forsaking the gift of salvation for worldly passions and desires. I pray that in these dark times your people will continue to be led by the Spirit so we can walk upright with integrity, righteousness and courage. That we keep our focus on Jesus, as we stand boldly facing adversity and the flaming arrows of spiritual warefare. All these things I pray in the name of Yeshua, Jesus, and through Him, Amen.
